Reddawn Partners with HSM Tour Security to Raise the Standard of Global Tour and Event Security

Reddawn is proud to formalise its strategic partnership with Headline Security Management (HSM), one of the world's most respected tour security organisations, bringing together over three decades of combined expertise to deliver accredited, locally based security operations across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.
A Partnership Built on Shared Standards
The live events industry has changed. Touring is more complex, more global, and more demanding than ever. Artists and their teams move through multiple territories on compressed timelines, often with little margin for error. The security professionals supporting those tours must do more than provide a physical presence. They need to understand venues, audiences, production environments, and the artist themselves.
That alignment of values and operational philosophy is what brought Reddawn and HSM together.
HSM has formally recognised the partnership on its website, noting:
"HSM has partnered with REDDAWN Australia and its affiliated entities to deliver locally based, accredited Venue Advance, Personal Tour and event security operatives for touring clients across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia."
For Reddawn, this is a natural extension of what the organisation has always stood for: professional, accountable, operationally excellent security delivered by people who genuinely understand the environments they work in.
Who is HSM Tour Security?
Headline Security Management (HSM) was founded in 2000 by Colin Lish and Steve Head, two security professionals who had spent the preceding decade working in concert security during some of the most formative years in British music. From the emergence of grunge and Brit Pop through to the global stadium era, they recognised early that effective tour security required something most operators weren't providing: a genuine understanding of music, fans, and the specific dynamics that different artists and genres create.
Today, HSM's client roster reads as a who's-who of global touring artists, including Oasis, Katy Perry, P!NK, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Cher, Rammstein, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and many more.
HSM's leadership team holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Crowd Safety Management from Buckinghamshire New University, the International Centre for Crowd and Security Studies and the only academically approved qualification of its kind in the world. Their approach combines rigorous academic grounding with over 30 years of practical, on-the-road experience across arenas, stadiums, and international festival circuits.
Beyond personal security and advance work, HSM also provides crowd management consultancy, health and safety advisory services, and operates a formal training program for security professionals entering the touring industry.
Colin Lish: The Person Behind the Partnership
Central to this partnership is Colin Lish, CEO of HSM and one of the most experienced tour security professionals in the world.
Colin has spent over three decades at the forefront of concert and tour security. His career traces the evolution of the entire discipline, from the Brit Pop era through to today's multi-continent stadium tours, and he has developed a perspective on artist security that is both operationally sharp and deeply human. He understands that the best tour security doesn't just manage risk. It creates the conditions for artists and their teams to do their jobs without distraction.
Colin visited Reddawn's team directly to share that knowledge. Over the course of the engagement, he presented to staff on tour security, venue advance, artist advance, front-of-stage safety, and barrier design, topics that sit at the intersection of crowd science, operational planning, and live performance realities.
The reception from Reddawn's team reflected exactly what Colin later put into words:
"It was an absolute pleasure for me to spend 5 days with the Reddawn Team. Simon Auston the CEO of Reddawn attended himself, which showed me leadership skills that you don't see that often from CEOs and that sums up Reddawn's attitude to upskilling and forward thinking. This is a leader and company that do not sit on the standard basics of knowledge in the event industry. Simon and Reddawn showed me, by their large staff attendance, that they are setting the bar in seeking to continually educate their staff for the positive of safety and security that can be applied to all types of events where crowds attend."
Colin also noted the strength of Reddawn's commitment to developing younger staff, a dimension of the organisation that speaks to something deeper than operational competence. It speaks to culture.
What This Partnership Delivers
Under the partnership, Reddawn serves as HSM's primary affiliate for the Australia, New Zealand, and Asia Pacific region, providing locally based, licensed, and operationally experienced security operatives for touring clients moving through the region.
In practical terms, this means:
- Venue Advance — Reddawn operatives conducting pre-show venue assessments on behalf of touring artists and their security directors, identifying and resolving risks before load-in.
- Personal Tour Security — Accredited close protection staff who integrate seamlessly with the artist's existing security team, applying local knowledge and regional expertise at every stage of the tour.
- Event Security Operations — Full-scope event security delivery, from front-of-stage management and barrier coordination through to crowd safety and incident response.
The goal is not just to fill a staffing need. It is to ensure that the security advance understands the artist and their team at every stage, and that on-the-ground crews operate in sync with the broader touring operation, wherever in the world that tour may be.
Why This Matters for the Industry
Tour and event security is one of the most underappreciated disciplines in the live events sector, and one of the most consequential. The decisions made by a security advance, or by a front-of-stage team in the first moments of a crowd surge, can determine whether a show is memorable for the right reasons or the wrong ones.
The partnership between Reddawn and HSM represents a commitment to changing that, to building a regional security capability that is credentialled, operationally rigorous, and genuinely integrated with the international touring ecosystem.
As touring continues to scale across Asia Pacific, the demand for security teams who understand not just how to manage crowds but how to work within touring productions at the highest level will only grow. Reddawn and HSM intend to meet that demand together.
